Caution! FTX warning in front of phishing fraudsters in the payment phase!

FTX, an insolvent cryptocurrency exchange, has warned of phishing frauds that are specifically directed against their creditors. Recently, fraudsters have been trying to pretend to be a Kroll settlement Administration and FTX Recovery Trust by sending fraudulent emails that give the appearance of official messages. These emails have the goal of stealing user registrations and access to wallets.

The fraudulent messages use subject lines such as "completed distribution to service providers" and "confirmation of the authorization for the second FTX distribution". Recipients are directed to fake portals that are designed to steal confidential data. Users are reminded that FTX will never demand that they combine external wallets for payouts, which is considered the most important security note against phishing attempts.

Fraudulent attempts to communicate

FTX has published examples of false messages on its official channel that resemble real distribution notifications. Fraudsters refer to legitimate distribution details and claim, for example, that repayments between 118 and 142 percent of the original claims are estimated. Some messages incorrectly claim that the withdrawals in digital assets would take place at market prices from July 30, 2025.

The scams appear at the same time as FTX's legitimate third -party distribution phase, which began on September 30, 2025. In this round, about $ 1.6 billion are distributed to insolvency believers. The FTX's insolvency reorganization plan came into force on January 3., 2025, and on February 18, 2025, the first payments to Convenience Class began, which was $ 1.2 billion for $ 162,000 with claims under $ 50,000.

Distribution of repayments

The second distribution, which took place on May 30, 2025, exceeded $ 5 billion for larger creditors with higher demands. FTX emphasizes that the official distribution process via approved cryptocurrency exchanges and payment providers will be handled without a connection to wallets.

The creditors must be particularly careful and obtain information about supposed payouts directly from FTX or officially communicated channels in order not to become victims of the fraudsters. The company confirms that legitimate services never request wallet connections.

Particular attention should be paid to the current fraudulent emails that are cleverly formulated in order to awaken trust. Users should always look suspiciously and turn to FTX to check the authenticity of payout notifications.
