US Ministry of Justice moves Bitcoin again: implemented $ 270 million
The US Justice Ministry has moved Bitcoin again and investors have expressed concerns. In November 2021, around 50,000 BTC worth over $ 3 billion were confiscated by the Ministry of Justice. The Bitcoins were associated with James Zhong, who was accused of stealing digital assets in September 2012.
Since the Bitcoins are confiscated, the Ministry of Justice has already sold a considerable part of the assets, including 9,800 BTC worth around $ 300 million in March. This led to a high volatility on the cryptom market, as the investors assumed that the offer was sold.
Since March, however, the Ministry of Justice has moved none of the bitcoins obtained from the Silk Road robbery, until July 12th. In total, the Federal Ministry moved 8,200 BTC worth over $ 250 million in three separate transactions. There are also another 824 BTC in the queue that should be moved by the Ministry of Justice.
Despite these movements, the Bitcoin price had not had any effects at around $ 30,500 at the time of the article publication. In addition, the sale of the moving BTC of $ 300 million would only make up $ 2.1% of the total volume traded in the last 24 hours. A sale would therefore have no negative effects on the price.
The data also show that almost 5,000 BTC worth $ 152.6 million were sold in the last 24 hours, without the Bitcoin price being significant changes. The Bitcoin Prize is therefore not significantly influenced, even if the Ministry of Justice sells its bitcoins.
Currently the Bitcoin price is around $ 30,500 and tries to break the barrier of $ 31,000 to initiate further recovery.
It remains to be seen whether the Ministry of Justice will continue to move and sell its Bitcoin stocks and what effects this will have on the market. However, the market currently seems to be strong enough to absorb possible sales without leading to greater price movements.
