Hyperliquid starts triple levered futures for new Monad Token!
Hyperliquid recently announced that it has listed perpetual futures for the yet-to-be-launched Monad (MON) token. These offers may be of interest to investors as MON-USD perpetuals are available with leverage up to 3x. Given that the launch of the Monad token was originally scheduled for September 30th, but remains in offline mode until October 8th, it remains to be seen what developments will emerge in the coming weeks.
The Monad token is currently in the audit phase, which is considered the final step before mainnet deployment. Users have the opportunity to interact with the Monad testnet and participate in various ecosystem projects. This includes games and tasks that can potentially lead to Testnet MON allocations. According to Hyperliquid, the listing of the perpetual futures happened due to “community request,” which suggests that interest in this new token is already there.
Audit phase and expected implications
Analyzes of historical patterns of comparable Layer-1 networks such as Aptos, Sui and Solana show that the period from the audit phase to mainnet typically takes around four months. If Monad's audit began at the end of July, the mainnet launch could not take place until November or even later. Users should be aware of this possible delay and still actively participate in the ecosystem.
Users can influence their future airdrop permissions through their commitment in the ecosystem. The Monad Testnet went live in February and offers various options for participation. Examples of commitment are interaction with projects such as Kintsu, Magma, Fastlane, Opinion Labs, Apriori and Kuru as well as playing games such as 2048 and the use of various testnet DAPPS.
Rewards and Allocations
For users with a full access role on Discord, 5 MON is available in the testnet. Another way to get MON is to hold at least 0.01 ETH on the Ethereum mainnet with an outgoing transaction, for which 2 MON is awarded. All other testnet participants will be provided with a smaller allocation of 0.05 MON. These allocations allow active users to benefit from Monad's future developments.
In summary, despite its delayed launch, the Monad token already represents an exciting prospect for investors, particularly through its perpetual futures listing and upcoming airdrop opportunities that reward engagement in the ecosystem.
