The belief system between Bitcoiners and “shitcoiners” continues to expand. While the two groups occasionally agree, they often criticize each other on completely separate pages.

For clarity, “shitcoiner” can have different meanings depending on who is speaking, but it is mainly used by . used Bitcoin maximalists to describe people who trade other cryptocurrencies.

Recently, Blockstream co-founder and CEO Adam Back blasted Shitcoiner, saying that they are terrible at creating memes and the reason for this is unclear. The Bitcoin proponent went further, saying that the popular and expensive ETHRocks, which sold for up to $2.1 billion, are nothing more than “a low-resolution GIF that has no value.”

How it started

As with most disputes between Bitcoiners and Shitcoiners, the recent clash between the two groups began on Crypto Twitter and was over memes, a culture that is quickly becoming an integral part of the cryptocurrency space.

Back trolled a meme on Shitcoiners yesterday, noting that “honesty” might be the problem with Bitcoin maximalists as they are “too honest for some people’s tastes.”

Maybe that’s the “problem” with it #bitcoin “Maximalism.” too honest for some people's taste https://t.co/Y0jd2HGmBi

As expected, members of the opposing group quickly responded to Back's tweet, with one saying, "Say what you want about Maxis, but they definitely have the weakest memes in the room."

Adam Back fired back, Information:

"Shitcoiners suck at memes. It's not clear why this is: I think paid promoters just don't care enough: Bitcoin members are on a damn mission to save humanity, their hearts are all in. Plus, apparently a statistical sense of humor correlates with intelligence."

But infamous Bitcoin Twitter personality Udi Wertheimer made a tweet trashing Back's meme-making statement. He told (or trolled) the Blockstream CEO that his claim that shitcoiners make the worst memes is no longer true, thanks to the success of memecoins like Dogecoin, Shiba Inu and memes that have been sold as NFTs for millions of dollars.

So what do you say to the universe? Buy altcoin memes?

No

udiverse says if you think shitcoiners can't meme, your head is in the sand

and that's not healthy for your eyesight

No merit

Responding to Wertheimer's tweet, Back said that many NFT sales worth thousands and even millions of dollars are not real. He compared it to the ICO era, where some projects used raised funds to buy their own ICOs. He also described the popular ETHRock NFT as “a low-resolution gif of a rock that has no value.”

ETHRock is a collection of 100 digital stones tokenized on the Ethereum blockchain that gained traction earlier this year. The NFT consists of still images of a “rock,” all identical in design and shape, but with different hues. However, the stones are selling for no less than 500 ETH ($2 million) at the time of writing this line.

But despite the price of the stones, Adam Back said he would refuse it even if he was paid for it.

many of them are fake, just like ICO collects to buy their own ICOs with collected money. a low-resolution GIF of a rock has no value whatsoever. So it's not worth shit. I would refuse to accept it if you paid me for it.
