Mitchell Demeter leads Sonic Labs into the global growth phase!

On October 3, 2025, Sonic Labs announced the appointment of Mitchell Demeter as the new CEO. Demeter, a recognized pioneer in the field of digital assets and experienced entrepreneurs, assumes the responsibility to lead the company's global growth phase and to promote the acceptance of the Sonic Blockchain as a leading platform. His main goal is to intensify the worldwide spread of developer and ecosystem adoption and to build important institutional relationships.

Sonic Labs has developed impressively since its foundation in December 2024. The blockchain platform now offers a main network of up to 400,000 transactions per second and reaches confirmation times of less than one second. Sonic's successes include the listing at Coinbase, the native edition of USDC and the integration of Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). Despite these achievements, however, the company is faced with the challenge of strengthening the necessary institutional connections in the USA and internationally in order to support the network and its projects sustainably.

Focus on institutional relationships

With the appointment of Demeter Plant Sonic Labs to build a strong management team to supplement both the technological and business strengths of the company. Management will deal intensively with business development in the USA and worldwide and recruit managers in order to deepen relationships with institutional partners. Demeter emphasizes the need to build bridges between decentralized innovation and the existing institutional framework in order to exploit the full potential of blockchain technology.

A look into the future shows that experts predict up to 10% of global GDP over the next ten years through blockchain technologies, which would result in over $ 10 trillion in economic activities in the on-chain sector. Sonic is in a strong position to benefit from this growth, especially through its focus on speed, scalability and attractive incentives for developers and institutions.

In his new role, Demeter will also act as the Executive Chair of Sonic Strategy, while Michael Kong, who remains on the board, takes the position of Chief Information Officer to actively support Demeter. One of Demeter's remarkable achievements includes the introduction of the first Bitcoin ATM in Vancouver and the participation of Cointrad Exchange. This experience will help him lead Sonic Labs on the way to global expansion and institutionalized adoption.
