Square Enix will deepen his blockchain efforts in 2023-Blockchain

Square Enix, the Japanese gaming giant, prepares the announcement of further blockchain-based titles in 2023. As part of a traditional New Year's letter from Yosuke Matsuda, CEO of the company, the manager announced some of the steps that Square Enix companies will be able to surround the blockchain in 2022 in terms of blockchain technology and also thought about several situations.

Square Enix, the Japanese game company, which is responsible for franchise companies such as Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, announced that some games that use this technology are prepared for the announcement in 2023.

The statements come from a New Year's letter published by yosuke Matsuda, CEO of Square Enix, who sees in 2022 as a year in which blockchain technology has gained greater importance. Matsuda explains that last year the year of consolidation for decentralized technology could have been in gaming. He indicated:

I think it is fair to say that Blockchain as a area in 2022 has become more important, which is shown by the fact that "Web 3.0" has become a permanently established keyword among business people.

MATSUDA acknowledges that blockchain games were in the foreground of the discussion about what games fun, but focused more on the monetization side of the technology. This changes because Matsuda determines that the new vision only sees blockchain technology as a "means to an end".

Further blockchain games come

Despite all the problems that occurred in the crypto and blockchain ecosystems in 2022, the company is launching its blockchain-related products this year, whereby Matsuda believes that Blockchain-Gaming 2023 will go into a new growth phase, he defined:

Our group has several blockchain games based on original IPs in the development that we announced some of which we announced last year, and we will prepare preparations that will enable us to present even more titles this year.

The executive, however, announced no further details about the new games that could use blockchain technology this year. The company did it announce the introduction of nft-based symbiogenesis, an interactive experience, in November.

The company's interest in this area was by Matsuda in November 2021, whereby the company is considering a “robust entry” into this sector as part of its business strategy. Since then, Matsuda supports the introduction of web3 technologies as part of entertainment and playing on several occasions invest in other companies in the field of web3-gaming.
