Until 1974 the Mexican filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky had become a cult figure among film lovers. His first two pictures, El Topo and the Holy Berg, had mixed surrealistic, psychedelic pictures with crazy actions and Arkan religious symbolism and made it one of the most prominent names in the underground cinema.
