On October 20, legendary rap star Snoop Dogg announced that he was participating in a non-fungible token (NFT) sitcom with the popular basketball team Harlem Globetrotters. According to the announcement, the NFT drop is part of a campaign featuring a limited-edition Snoop Dogg and Globetrotters NFT collection.

Musician and American rapper Snoop Dogg is known to be a fan of cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFT). Recently, the crypto community discovered that Snoop is a crypto whale with a large collection of NFTs in his portfolio.

That was after the hip-hop star called Bitcoin was “here to stay” and praised the innovations behind the non-fungible token technology. Snoop also partnered with Crypto.com when it launched its NFT marketplace and recently with the rapper in partnership with the virtual NFT blockchain world The Sandbox.

On Wednesday evening (EDT), the rapper announced that he had collaborated with the icon Harlem Globetrotter, the basketball innovators who popularized concepts such as jump shot, slam dunk, and the team's players also invented the half-court hook shot. The American exhibition basketball team emerged from Chicago's South Side in 1926.

The sitcom NFT description also states:

Globetrotter players say it's a dream come true to work with the legendary hip-hop legend

Sunni Hickman, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Globetrotters, stated that it was a dream for our Globetrotters players to work with the legendary Snoop Dogg. Hickman added, "[Snoop's] passion for basketball and shooting culture is unmatched; having him as part of our team was super dope."

According to the announcement, Snoop's collaboration with the Globetrotters was sparked by the gaming and advertising network behind vast.app, Amusement Park Entertainment and creative strategy firm Brand Positioning Doctors. Amid the NFT drop, the Harlem Globetrotters are openly following up an NBA franchise.
