Magic Eden is restructured and releases 22 employees
After a series of layoffs in the entire crypto industry in 2022 - a microcosm in the technology industry as a whole, in which there were also numerous layoffs last year - Magic Eden is the youngest company that is reducing its number of employees.
restructuring partly due to the Solana evolution
Magic Eden, an NFT marketplace that until recently concentrated on the NFT market and focused on Solana, suffered from the loss of SOL and the appearance of alternative blockchains for other competitive projects.
"Our business has grown significantly since then and the type of our challenges has developed. Our focus for 2023 includes increasing the traction across chains, the development of services for NFT developers and the research of new applications such as rewards and social experiences. When we have set these priorities for the year, we had to check exactly which structures and roles needed." - reads the explanation.
continued support for those who have been released
Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Jack LU - the CEO and co -founder of Magic Eden emphasized that the layoffs are by no means due to a lack of talent, but only to change the priorities for 2023.
🧵 Today is a sad day at Magic Eden.
As part of a company -wide restructuring, we made the difficult decision to separate ourselves from 22 teammates. Nothing about this decision reduces talent, hard work and the commitment of this incredible group of people. pic.twitter.com/2lagfk9dmv

As a result, each of the employees concerned receives a severance payment to support him in finding a new job. This severance payment consists of two monthly salaries, six months of health care and an annual subscription from Headspace, a company in the healthcare industry that focuses on psychological well -being.
In addition, each of the dismissed employees may keep their laptop provided by the company and will be supported in the search for a future job, including coaching, recommendation letters and so on.
As a welcome surprise, the director of Aptos Labs expanded potential vacancies for recently dismissed Magic Eden employees.
If one of them searches for roles, aptos actively talented people in all positions.
I'm specifically looking for rock star ecosystems and NFT people.

The timely announcement will benefit the recently released employees. Other employers in the entire NFT area, such as Origin, also responded to the news by publishing their contributions Current Job offers.
