Interview with founder Alex Dulub

In December, the Web3 community welcomed the introduction of Web3 Antivirus-a solution that aims to help users avoid phishing fraud and dangerous smart contracts. We met with W3A founder Alex Dulub and asked him to tell us some details about this interesting project.

Alex, could you please introduce yourself to our readers?

Hello, it's very nice to meet you. As you have already mentioned, my name is Alex and I am the founder of Web3 Antivirus. I've always been fascinated by top technologies such as blockchain and AI, and of course I'm a big web3 enthusiast.

This interest finally led me to found my software development and consulting company Pixelplex. This year we are celebrating our 15th anniversary, and I think the introduction of Web3 Antivirus is a great way to celebrate this milestone.

How did you get the idea of developing Web3 antivirus?

Well, while I was working with my team on the exam and the establishment of intelligent contracts, we saw a large amount of fraud, which led to disadvantageous results. It is terrible how with just a few clicks millions of dollars can be lost through fraud.

Apparently there was an urgent need for a security solution that can recognize web3-specific threats such as malicious smart contracts, fraudulent transactions and phishing. It would also have been great to have a clear understanding of which Smart Contract you sign without having to do extensive research. So I thought why not building such a tool yourself?

Insectable knowledge of how different web3 frauds work and how to recognize them that I have acquired for years when working on blockchain-based projects, the basis of Web3 Antivirus.

How does W3A work?

W3A is a browser extension, something like a protective layer between a user and dangers that he could encounter in the web3 area. The solution pauses a transaction, analyzes it and presents the risk assessment report in 2 seconds, whereby what can go wrong if a user confirms the transaction.

In addition, W3A is able to carry out call stack baking tracing, which means that it can examine all smart contracts that are linked to the transaction instead of just checking the one with which they are interacting.

As a result, users receive the risk of transaction with the list of all identified dangers. With a complete overview of what you expect in front of you, users can make a well -founded decision about whether they approved or reject the transaction.

In addition, the solution of the domain names compares with an extensive database with the help of AI-like comparison and identifies suspicious URLs. If a user is heading for a phishing or non-trusted website, W3A blocks it immediately.

It is important that the expansion does not require a setup and never asks about access to items, assets or a starting phrase.

What are your future plans?

Now we are working on expanding the range of supported wallets and blockchains, whereby BNB and Solana will soon follow. In addition, the expansion will soon receive a brand new function, W3A dashboard. Imagine it as an account that records the course of the threats that you came across together with a detailed list of transactions and delegated token rights.

And we never stop improving the examination methodology. In addition to the risk assessment report, users will be able to see all steps of the transaction simulation and the associated dangers in addition to the risk assessment report.

We also implement an advanced NFT analysis that covers historical data and mechanical learning layer that is able to recognize financial fraud, to define wallet risk ratings, IP violations, honeypots, etc.

Who can benefit from Web3 Antivirus?

It doesn't matter what your goals are in Web3, whether you do transactions or just explore websites - W3A is for everyone who accepts Web3. Web3 projects, such as not fungible tokens (NFT) collections or defi protocols, can also be validated by the solution. This is a win-win scenario because the projects receive a "security label" while we update our data layer.

Our goal is to become a community-controlled project, the members of which can contribute to W3A development with their research and contract validation and receive rewards. This can enrich your databases more quickly and to recognize fraud.

web3 users need the credibility of the solutions they use. How do you make sure that you can trust W3A?

Web3 antivirus never asks about the seed phrases or access to wallets or assets. In addition, the solution is open source, so that users can fork our code of Github and check whether there are no hidden processes.

What distinguishes W3A from his competitors?

The most important difference is that Web3 antivirus carries out a comprehensive risk analysis and informs users about the general transaction risk and the exact recognized threats. In the meantime, our competitors do not carry out such a profound examination.

W3A reaches this high level of detail thanks to its sophisticated infrastructure, which includes complex technical solutions, such as: B. the indexing and structuring of data that comes directly from the Ethereum network.

Another advantage is that W3A has a team of experienced smart-contract developers and examiners who examine web3 fraud every day and update the solution.

What is the most unique risk that W3a recognizes?

we assume that it is the ability of a smart contract to adapt and transform and transform itself according to the number of tokens that a user has. For example, a smart contract can limit the trade with a certain, usually very valuable token and not make it transferable. What initially looks like a very profitable business turns out to be a loss of money.

Can you share your impressions of the introduction of Web3 Antivirus to Product Hunt?

Sure, it was a great experience! W3A was classified in the top 10 solutions of the day. We received a lot of support and found real interest in our product. I think the announcement of web3 antivirus there helped us to sharpen awareness in the web3 community and encourage people who had doubts about working in web3.
