Attention Shiba Inu investors! Massive phishing wave threatens wallets!
An urgent safety alert has been issued for the Shiba Inu community. According to information from U.Today a community member issued a warning about an active phishing scam specifically targeting Shiba Inu token holders. A malicious website posing as an official Shiba Inu site is actively draining the wallets of unsuspecting users.
This fake site promotes misleading promotions such as “Cross-Chain Swap Live!” and offers suspicious wallet connection options that are modeled after legitimate platforms. The scammers pose as members of the Shiba Inu development team, as SHIBARMY moderators or as official support staff. Once users connect their wallets to this site, unauthorized transactions may be carried out, resulting in loss of assets.
Precautions and Official Warnings
The Shiba Inu team has clearly highlighted the real website to protect users from this phishing scam. They emphasize the importance of considering their ecosystem tokens such as SHIB, LEASH, BONE and TREAT. The community is strongly warned not to connect their wallets to unknown or suspicious sites. It is recommended to check URLs thoroughly as scammers often use similar domains to disguise their offers.
Additionally, experts advise revoking token approvals if users have interacted with the fake site. This can be done by using tools like revoke dot cash. Shiba Inu has been one of the most targeted cryptocurrencies through phishing scams since its launch in August 2020. This wave of fraud appears to be continuing until 2025.
Review of fraudulent actions
Back on August 14th, the Shiba Inu team became aware of scammers impersonating major crypto projects, including Shiba Inu, to steal money from holders. In the past, members of the Shiba Inu community have also reported fake websites aimed at damaging the brand and defrauding users.
Community alarm bells are ringing again and users are urged to be vigilant to protect themselves from these scammers. As previous incidents show, wallet security remains of utmost importance to Shiba Inu investors.
