According to Apple CEO Tim Cook, the Metaverse has a lot of potential and his company is investing accordingly. “It’s very interesting for us,” he noted. Global investment banks Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs have predicted that the metaverse could be an $8 trillion opportunity.

Apple sees a lot of potential in the Metaverse, says CEO Tim Cook

Apple Inc. answered a question about the Metaverse during its first-quarter 2022 earnings conference call last week. CEO Tim Cook was asked: “How do you think about the Metaverse opportunity and Apple’s role in this market?”

“We are a company in the business of innovation,” the Apple CEO responded. "That's why we're constantly exploring new and emerging technologies. And I've talked at length about how this area is very interesting for us."

Cook explained: “Right now we have over 14,000 ARKit apps in the App Store, providing incredible AR [augmented reality] experiences for millions of people today,” he points out:

We see a lot of potential here and are investing accordingly.

Several people have estimated the potential size of the metaverse to be in the trillions of dollars. Global investment banks Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley have appreciated the Metaverse as an $8 trillion market opportunity.

In December, Bank of America strategist Haim Israel said that the metaverse a firmly Opportunity where cryptocurrencies are widely used as currencies. “I definitely think this is a huge, huge opportunity,” he said.
