[PRESS RELEASE – San Francisco, California, October 13th, 2021]
Decentralized wireless network in San Francisco, node grants $1 million in Nodle Cash to the Berty Foundation, a privacy communications protocol, to advance the development of its Bluetooth peer-to-peer messaging capabilities. The grant will be used to develop and advance Berty's platform, which improves user privacy when chatting and sending messages over the network.
Launched in 2018, Berty offers its users an alternative to instant messaging platforms and offers privacy solutions in the messaging world. According to its website, Berty provides users with a standard privacy platform, ensuring that message security and privacy remain of utmost importance to all users. The platform is built by Berty Technologies “using the best encryption protocol available,” the website continues.
Commenting on the grant, Micha Benoliel, CEO and co-founder of Nodle, said:
"We are excited to help the Berty Foundation and support them in advancing their privacy-focused communications protocol. Privacy is at the heart of the Web 3.0 revolution and one of Nodle's core values."
The French startup does not store user data on a central server, but rather on a decentralized platform despite data encryption. In addition, only the metadata needed is actually collected on Berty, and they minimize collection as much as possible in the hope of creating a messaging service that guarantees anonymity and confidentiality for all users. The platform is aimed at privacy-focused groups, messaging apps, social network users and general users who want to protect their data from third parties.
With the latest grant, the Berty Foundation aims to expand the privacy and anonymity of its messages, the team said in a statement:
"Thanks to Nodle for their trust, this donation represents a real breakthrough for Berty. It will allow us to advance more quickly with our new decentralized secure messaging protocol and the ability to communicate even without an internet connection. More importantly, it will help secure the future of our organization."
The grant from Nodle, the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) network that connects millions of Internet of Things (IoT), will accelerate the development of Berty's privacy communications protocol. Nodle chose the platform because it is one of the most advanced companies in the field of decentralized communications and reinforces the privacy values that Nodle supports in terms of security and privacy. The two companies plan to use each other's technology or ecosystem in the future, the statement further confirmed.
Nodle is a citizen-run decentralized wireless network that allows anyone with a smartphone to join the network and earn Nodle Cash crypto through its Nodle Cash app. Mobile app developers and publishers can also monetize their applications by installing the Nodle network library. Because the Nodle network uses the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) standard, any existing BLE device or sensor can easily use the network.
With the latest grant, Berty Technologies aims to realize its vision of developing secure communication tools and combating censorship, creating an opportunity to connect with people across the free world.
About Nodle | The Citizen Network™:
Nodle is building the largest decentralized wireless network on Earth to connect objects and sensors that could never be connected before in a secure, cost-effective and environmentally friendly way. The Nodle Network is powered by millions of Bluetooth-enabled smartphone users who earn Nodle Cash for connecting to nearby Bluetooth-enabled IoT devices and sensors. App developers and publishers have the opportunity to monetize their applications through the Nodle Network Library, allowing them to generate Nodle Cash to support network growth. Nodle's powerful IoT stack enables many use cases including connecting and securing physical assets, tracking lost or valuable items, collecting sensor data, security certificates, and providing decision-making for consumer electronics manufacturers, enterprises, smart cities, the financial industry, and much more. The Nodle Cash app is available for iOS or Android.
