Customers of the largest supermarket chain of Croatia can pay their orders in the dealer online shop with cryptocurrency. The company plans to offer the crypto payment option soon in its physical shops across the country.

Kroaten's supermarket chain with the most branches, Konzum now accepts cryptocurrency for food and other articles that are sold via its online shopping platform. From December 1st, customers can buy any of the 12,000 listed products with nine large cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin ( btc ), ether ( eth ), Bitcoin-Bar money ( bch ), Eos , dai, xrp , xlm , and the stable coins usdt and usdc.
"The introduction of cryptocurrency payments is another indicator that concentrated concentrated global trends, introduces innovations and set standards in retail," said Uroš Kalinić, member of the management of Konzum, responsible for finance and IT. The payments in cryptocurrency enabled the Croatian payment processing possession Paycek, a platform developed by the local fintech company Electrocoin. Integration with the Konzum online shop enables buyers, a desired coin and complete the payment by scanning a generated QR code.
As soon as the transaction is complete, buyers will receive a confirmation email from the PayCEK system and concentrate will send you an invoice. Since the crypto prices can be quite volatile, Paycek guarantees the users a temporary fixed exchange rate.
The new payment method is currently only available for online orders. Konzum, however, said in the announcement published on Wednesday that it intends to introduce crypto payments in its branches in all of Croatia in the near future.
So far,Paycek has made it easier to introduce cryptocurrencies by various other companies in the country. In September, the Croatian e-bike company Greyp Bikes Its online accounting system so that enthusiasts can buy high-tech cycling products with digital coins. At the beginning of this year, more than 40 Tifon filling stations started accepting cryptos via the services of paycek.
