Ripple has closed a partnership with securitize to promote the introduction of the Ripple USD (RLUSD) stable coins. This cooperation enables users to exchange tokenized Treasury funds from Blackrock and Vaneck in Rlusd. An important part of this integration is the use of the XRP Ledger, which is intended to improve the tokenization of real assets (RWA) on the blockchain. This partnership provides an intelligent contract that enables owners of the USD institutional digital Liquidity Fund (Buidl) from Blackrock and Treasury Fund (VBILL) to convert their shares into RLUSD.
The Buidl currently has a market value of $ 2 billion, while VBill has a market capitalization of $ 74 million. The RLUSD-off-Ramp for Buidl is already active and the off-ramp for VBill will be introduced in the coming days. This intelligent contract enables immediate conversion of tokenized treasury funds in RLUSD, which facilitates both on-chain transfers and strategies in the field of decentralized finances (Defi).
Expansion of RLUSD use
Ripple sees this partnership as a step to increase the acceptance of RLUSD and to bridge the gap between traditional finance and cryptocurrencies.
