Distrust of digital assets increases - however, investors keep trust according to the study

The majority of citizens have a fundamental distrust of digital assets such as cryptocurrencies. This emerges from a current infographic from block-builders.de. However, those who have already invested in this area are relatively safe with their investments.

In Germany, only 18 percent of the citizens trust digital assets. However, this value has recently decreased because 74 percent state that their trust in cryptocurrencies has been shaken by the latest scandals. In particular, the case of the FTX crypto tour has played a major role here.

In 2021, 33 percent of citizens still had confidence in cryptocurrencies as asset class. A year later, this proportion has already dropped to 22 percent. People's distrust of digital assets is growing steadily.

The infographic also shows that there are still people who believe in the future of Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies. In particular, those who have already invested in the crypto sector continue to trust. Current survey data show that 23 percent of these investors consider their investments in digital assets to be safe, and another 43 percent consider them more secure. About every fourth is of the opinion that his investment is rather insecure, while only 8 percent assume that the investment is very uncertain or highly speculative.

When it comes to the specific investments, investors are still the most frequently on Bitcoin, the first and best -known cryptocurrency. It can be found in 84 percent of crypto portfolios. In second place is Ether with 77 percent and Cardano follows in third place with a presence in 58 percent of the wallets.

Although distrust of digital assets is widespread in the population, there are still a considerable number of investors who feel safe with their crypto investments. Bitcoin in particular remains the preferred choice of many investors. It remains to be seen how public trust in digital assets will develop in the coming years.
