MANTRA launches major upgrade: EVM and CosmWasm now live for tokenization!
On October 11, 2025 MANTRA released a significant mainnet upgrade. This upgrade brings native support for the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and CosmWasm contracts for the first time, making it much easier to develop decentralized applications (dApps) across different blockchains.
The main goal of this upgrade is to tokenize real-world assets (RWA). Developers can now deploy Solidity-based dApps without requiring any code changes. This represents a key advantage as existing Ethereum DeFi protocols can be seamlessly adapted for tokenization. At the same time, the development of Cosmos-native smart contracts within the network remains possible.
MultiVM environment and its advantages
The introduction of the MultiVM environment aims to build a bridge between different ecosystems. There is increasing discussion in the industry about the tokenization of RWAs. Financial institutions such as JPMorgan and BlackRock have already launched pilot projects to gain a foothold in this area. The EVM is seen as a key factor for institutional acceptance, while CosmWasm forms the basis for chains based on the Cosmos SDK.
With this, MANTRA aims to appeal to developers from both camps and create an application that is specifically optimized for tokenization needs. Additionally, compliance is handled at the protocol level, eliminating the need for separate contracts. Another significant step is obtaining a VASP license from Dubai's VARA, which provides institutions with a clear framework for tokenizing assets.
Advanced governance and upcoming events
With the upgrade, MANTRA has expanded its governance by introducing new validators, including well-known players such as Binance and Nansen. This further strengthens the network and provides a more robust infrastructure for future development. In particular, the project is preparing for the Agentic Summit in Abu Dhabi, which brings together developers, asset managers and policymakers.
Future updates will bring approved liquidity pools as well as new compliance modules for institutional users. The entire upgrade reflects broader trends in the industry and positions MANTRA as a serious player in the tokenization of RWAs space.
