Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, criticized Twitter for using its technical resources to provide a non-fungable token (NFT) profile image service. "Twitter spends engineering resources for this BS, while crypto fraudsters throw a spambot block party in every thread," said Musk.

Elon Musk, CEO von Tesla, criticized Twitter on Friday with regard to his new profile picture service for non -funny tokens (NFT). "This is annoying," wrote Musk. "Twitter spends engineering resources for this BS, while crypto fraudsters throw a spambot block party in every thread!?"

Twitter started the NFT profile image service on Thursday so that users can set up an NFT as their profile picture. NFT profile images are displayed with a special hexagon shape. "At the moment Twitter only supports NFTs with static pictures (JPEG, PNG) that are shaped on the Ethereum Blockchain," the company clarified.

MUSKKS Tweet received many comments. Some agreed with the CEO of Tesla that Twitter should better use its resources, and emphasized the need to act against crypto scams and spambots on the platform.

Adam Singer, a former Google Marketing Manager, agreed with Musk and tweeted:

Elon is right. The Twitter product team has to prioritize better, which is actually important for the user experience.

he added: "By the way, every Elon-Tweet commentary is a simple honey pot that you could use to kill a non-trivial amount of spills/robbers (but they do nothing)."

Some grabs Musk because he had used Tesla's technical resources for cryptocurrencies, in particular by accepting the Meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin (Doge).

"Some people think about cryptocurrencies as well," said one to musk. Another wrote: "Tesla also wastes resources in crypto-BS." A third commented: "Is Tesla's advertising for Doge not annoying?" A fourth pointed out:

elon [is] absolutely pissed off because he criticizes that Twitter spends resources for NFT integration while doing exactly the same with his company & Doge.

Musk's electric car company accepted Bitcoin at the beginning of last year, but stopped due to environmental concerns. The company began to accept Dogecoin payments on January 14th for some.
