The former Gaming boss of Tiktok founds a blockchain infrastructure company that aims to connect different meta verses.
Jason Fun is now CEO from Meta0, blockchain integrations for game developers through White label application programming interfaces (API) and to simplify solutions based on software development kits.
"I left Tikkok because I have seen a clear opportunity to offer a solution for the current separation of infrastructure options that are available to develop developers to develop blockchain games," said Fung in an email to block works. "This is a problem on the market that is worth solving."
According to his LinkedIn profile, Fung came to the short-form video hosting service TikTok in June 2020 as a global director of gaming content. As a founding member of the company's gaming team, he worked at Tiktok as a global director for strategy and business for unit during his second year.
The manager spent his early career at technology startups in the gaming area, where he helped build up companies in the areas of online video, live streaming and fantasy. In 2017,
fung spent nine months at Electronic Arts (EA), where he led the design and development of all ESPORT programs from EA Asia, including the production of live and online tournaments, he wrote on LinkedIn.
Before he came to Tikkok, Fung also worked for more than two years as Director of Global Esports at the Alibaba Group.
Although the foundation of META0 falls into a particularly turbulent time for the crypto room, Fung said that the company is ready to form its team and to launch products with real applications.
"The latest market depression creates an opportunity to concentrate on building," he said. “I am a building contractor and it is nice not to be distracted by the increased market speculation and volatility.
Other traditional gaming companies have recently also entered the web3 world.
