Bitcoin wholesalecoers reached over 1 million in the middle of the Bärenmarkt ATH
Bitcoin has marked another important milestone because the number of addresses that hold at least one BTC has reached an all -time high of over one million
According to data from Glassnode, the feat was recorded on May 13, which indicates that interest in the investment class increases despite the price volatility and the bear market. At the time of the letter, the total number of wholecoin addresses was 1,000,527. This happens about 15 months after these wallets reached 800,000 in February 2022.
Bitcoin introduction despite the bear market
The latest milestone is due to the ongoing bear market, which Bitcoin had broke up by over 65 % last year. It is noteworthy that during the market crash in June and November, when several large crypto companies collapsed, the number of Wholecoiner addresses increased. This indicates that investors used the downward trends to acquire more bitcoins.
While Wholecoiner addresses are on an ATH, the number of Bitcoin addresses has increased by more than 15 % in the past 15 months. At the time of the writing of this article, the total number of non-Null addresses was 46,715,868, compared to 40.276.163 in February 2022.
CEXs claim BTC market content
According to Coinglass data, centralized stock exchanges (CEXS) dominate the BTC market share. Of the approximately 19 million Bitcoins in circulation, 1.89 million worth $ 50.7 billion are located in well-known CEXs such as Binance and Coinbase.
Coinglass also points out that the United States, China, Russia, India and Ukraine have the highest proportion of the circulating Bitcoin offer. This underlines their significant presence in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
Meanwhile, Glassnode estimates that three million BTC, which corresponds to $ 80.4 billion and is 17 % of the total circulation offer, are lost forever. This estimate is based on various data sources, including BTC, which were sent to "Burn addresses", Wallets with lost keys and large accounts that have remained inactive for over a decade.
