Bitcoin Payments App Strike adds support for Tethers Usdt
Strike-a Bitcoin payment company and a transfer app-announced the integration of the world's largest stable coin, Tethers Usdt.
The latest step is followed by Strike's expansion into 65 other countries and the USDT-supported new app design, which was announced at Bitcoin 2023.
Strike-better integration
Integration aims to address important challenges that hinder the broad acceptance of the industry, including the volatility aspect of crypto-assets.
Therefore, the combination of the stability and usefulness of USDT with the payment solutions from Strike serves as a "reliable bridge" between the cryptowelt and traditional financial systems and at the same time minimizes the risk of price fluctuations.
In an explanation of Monday, Tether said that users with his stablecoin as an intermediary are given the opportunity to quickly convert their digital assets into Fiat currency and to "overcome liquidity problems that have previously hindered the introduction".
Following the development, Tether-Cto Paolo Ardoinino:
"We are pleased to announce the integration of Tether (USD ₮) with strike. This is a crucial moment for the cryptocurrency industry, since it means the growing acceptance and recognition of stable coins as a reliable and efficient digital payment solution."
The managing director also added that the cooperation would promote the widespread introduction of digital currencies, "drive innovations and create a more integrative financial ecosystem for everyone".
Strike extension
Strike announced the expansion of his app to more than 65 countries, based on the current USA and El Salvador, and thus increased its entire addressable market to almost 3 billion people. The new, incomplete list of 47 supported countries includes Bhutan, Brazil, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Kenya, New Zealand, Paraguay and Uganda as well as already announced extensions such as Argentina, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana.
At the beginning of the year, the company entered into a partnership with the FinTech giant Fiserv to integrate Bitcoin's Lightning network with the point-of-sale terminal provider Clover.
The digital payment platform was also integrated with the e-commerce giant Shopify last November to enable retailers to accept Bitcoin payments in US dollars.
