Zimbabwischer Minister says that solutions based on cryptocurrencies could reduce the fees for diaspora transfers-fintech
The Zimbabwischer Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube has once again addressed the potential advantages of using cryptocurrencies. In new comments, which were given shortly after visiting the DMCC Crypto Center in Dubai, NCUBE addresses the possibility that the state could use cryptocurrency -based solutions to reduce the costs for crossing the border.

Before these comments on cryptocurrencies, ncube previously invested in the understanding emerging innovations like Bitcoin ”. At that time, Ncube, who had just been appointed finance minister, asked the Zimbabwischen authorities to emulate countries like Switzerland, which in his opinion "invest and understand them".
In his latest positive comments on cryptocurrencies, however, Ncube said:
I visited the DMCC Crypto Center in Dubai, a fascinating incubation center for cryptocurrencies and payment solutions. I came across solutions that could reduce the fees for diaspora transfers.
While some applauded on Twitter Ncube for such comments in Zimbabwes, many others are not amused. Instead, they ask why a tour of an incubation center in Dubai needed to get the minister to deal with the topic.
Another other like Victor Mapunga, CEO from Flexfintx, quickly remind the minister that Zimbabwe already has enough blockchain and crypto start-ups. In his answer to Ncubes Tweet, Mapunga wrote:
We already have blockchain and crypto companies in Zimbabwe like Flexfintx. Work with local players.
Mixed reaction to ncubes comments
However, not everyone agrees that crypto is a solution to the currency problems of the country. For example Twitter user Senator Jopa Sayeyo Sry :
"If banks stop manipulating the currency course, then maybe the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe [RBZ] cryptocurrency can consider. Otherwise there is a massive crash of the ZwL [Zimdollar]
