Shanghai brings the metaverse to 20 urban spots

Shanghai, China, is quickly in the process of integrating the meta verse as part of the life of its citizens. The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization recently announced a pilot program to transform 20 different urban locations into "large Metaverse application scenarios" that will contain digital technology in various ways.

The implementation of this technology will cover various social areas, including business processes, education, branding and entertainment. The city hopes that the citizens can receive more intelligent services from urban institutions in these areas. In the area of the healthcare system, the Ruijin Hospital will set up a VR facility (virtual reality), for example, to inspect patient rooms via meta-verse representations.

In the same area, the Shanghai Eye and Enten Hospital set up a meta-verse diagnostic system that will enable doctors to take care of patients with 3D scanks.

Other highlights

One of the biggest attractions that Metaverse features will offer is the Oriental Pearl Tower, a landmark with a height of almost half a kilometer. The broadcasting tower, which is often visited by tourists, will enable visitors to fly via a VR-capable application via the Shanghai industrial estate.

Guo Yifeng, General Manager of the Shanghai Tower, explained that they hope that this new focus could help the recently renovated tower to attract more visitors. He specified :

We hope that these new meta-verse projects can enrich the visiting experience of people and make our online marketing more accessible and interesting.

In addition, another busy part of the city, the Nanjing Road, starts an online market that will make customers make purchases with the digital Yuan, Chinas CBDC (digital currency of the central bank).

All of these efforts are part of a target = "_ blank" href = "https://news.Bitcoin.com/shanghai-aims-to-grow-a-a--a-billion-metaverse-cluster-by-2025/" Rel = "noopener"> The city already announced in July last year that it was declared that it intends to become a 52 billion dollar meta-verse cluster by 2025, and outlines the various goals that the city has to achieve to achieve this.
