Terraform Labs appoints new CEO Chris Amani, while founder Do Kwon is in detention - South Korea and the USA are striving for delivery
Terraform Labs, a well -known company in the cryptocurrency sector, has appointed a new CEO, reports the Wall Street Journal. Chris Amani takes over the position of the CEO and succeeds co -founder Do Kwon. Do Kwon is currently in custody in Montenegro. Both South Korea and the United States have charged him and strive for its delivery.
do Kwon is charged in South Korea for violations of capital market law and in the USA for criminal and civil law fraud. Both countries demand its delivery to their own countries. Despite the charges, the company hopes that Do Kwon can acquire the allegations. However, Chris Amani expressed that it would make sense for Terraform Labs without continuing it as long as he is imprisoned and belonging to his legal challenges.
The Terraform Labs project Terra, which failed last year, had a value of $ 40 billion. Terra was a promising project, which, however, failed in March of last year due to the crash of Terra [VAT] Stablecoin and Luna [Luna] sister token. Although the company continues its activities in Singapore, there were considerable setbacks.
Nevertheless, Chris Amani does not give up hope and expressed the desire to revive the Terra project. He emphasized that the company wants to develop applications that can offer real benefits. However, there is currently no signs that the company wants to introduce a new stablecoin as a replacement for the failed terrausd stable.
Chris Amani admitted that the past year was difficult for Terra because the StableCoin VAT lost a lot of value. Nevertheless, the team is determined to revive Terra without the use of algorithmic stable coins and to integrate the project into the larger Web 3.0 ecosystem. This will certainly be a challenge, but the company has a clear vision and wants to drive the Terra project forward.
Terraform Labs currently employs 40 people, 15 of whom were already employed by the company before the project collapsed last year. It remains to be seen how the company will develop under the leadership of the new CEO Chris Amani and whether the Terra project can actually be revived. The crypto community will pursue the action with tension.
