NRL signed three-year contract with the Australian crypto exchange Swyftx

  • SwyftX has become the official exchange partner of the Australian National Football League
  • While financial details of the deal were not announced, a Swyftx spokesman to Blockworks said that it was "the largest crypto sports sponsoring" in the country

Swyftx, one of the fastest growing crypto exchanges in Australia, has signed a three-year contract with the country's National Rugby League (NRL) for an unspoken sum.

The deal, which contains options for extension beyond 2026, crowns Swyftx to the “official exchange partner” of the league, according to a press release on Wednesday. The Swyftx brand will appear on LED signs in stadiums and virtual signage that are broadcast on more than "Nofollow Noopener" Target = "_ Blank" href = "https://www.nrl.com/operations/operations/thame/international-broadcasters/"> Company with.

"This is a decisive partnership for the NRL and Swyftx and represents an important milestone for the Australian crypto industry," said Ryan Parsons, CEO from Swyftx. "It is now clear that investments in crypto and digital assets are part of a typical portfolio, and it is great to see that the Australians accept this new technology."

The “Big Investment” also becomes the name sponsor for the decision -making committee of the NRL - a sign with the inscription “Try” or “No Try” when a team scores a goal - which is renamed “Swyftx Bunker” in 2023.

While the costs of the deal were not announced, a Swyftx spokesman Blockworks said that the amount was larger than the $ 25 million deal of the Singapore Stock Exchange Crypto.com with the Australian Football League (AFL) last month.

"We believe that it is the greatest crypto sports ponsoring in Australia," said the spokesman.

In January, Crypto.com signed a sponsorship contract with AFL, which provided that the company was installed as an official crypto exchange partner for AFL and the AFLW league of women. In fact, business between sports organizations and crypto companies - namely stock exchanges - are becoming increasingly common.

When asked whether the deal is a direct reaction to the advance of Crypto.com for a larger proportion of crypto advertising in the country, the spokesman said that Swyftx had "searched for a while for the right partnership with big names".

"It is certainly an indication of growing trust in the future of crypto and the importance of brand awareness," they said. "The NRL has millions of viewers every year, so we have a unique opportunity to announce and say that we are here and help Australians to accept these new technologies."

The rise of the Swyftx company based in Brisbane can be seen from the fact that its customer base grew by 1200 % last year. The customer number increased from around 40,000 in early 2021 to over 500,000 at the end of the year, the company said.
