These 3 NFT projects have collectively generated over $10 billion in sales – Blockchain

Non-fungible token (NFT) assets have taken the world by storm in 2021, and three recent projects in the NFT universe have driven sales into the billions. Statistics show that NFT marketplace Opensea, blockchain NFT game Axie Infinity, and digital collectible series Cryptopunks have collectively generated over $10 billion in sales.

Opensea, Axie Infinity, Cryptopunks break $10 billion in sales

Towards the end of September, the combined sales of three different NFT projects brought total sales of more than $10 billion. All three projects are also unique in that Opensea, the leader in NFT sales, is a marketplace that allows users to buy and sell a variety of NFT collectibles from the Ethereum and Polygon networks.

To date, Opensea has generated total sales of $6.85 billion from 452,319 merchants, it said dappradar.com ’s NFT market stats. Opensea recorded a monthly increase of around 74.26% and recorded sales of $3.78 billion in the last 30 days.

Blockchain game Axie Infinity, which leverages some native tokens and NFTs, surpassed $2 billion this week as the project generated $2.17 billion in total sales among 640,376 traders. Axie Infinity's monthly records show that the game recorded $574 million in NFT sales, down 33.79% over the last 30 days.

Finally, the NFT collection called Cryptopunks is also a multi-billion dollar NFT project as it has sales of $1.33 billion today. There are 10,000 Cryptopunks in total and according to Dune Analytics, there are 2,980 unique owners (addresses) who own a Cryptopunk NFT. A single company owns approximately 254 or 2.54% of the entire Cryptopunks NFT collection.

Of the $1.33 billion in sales, 4,948 traders are counted by dappradar.com metrics. To date, the Opensea, Axie Infinity and Cryptopunk projects have generated a total revenue of $10.35 billion.

Records of dune.xyz also point out that $8.53 billion or 3,100,960 Ether were generated from a variety of Ethereum-based NFT projects. NFT projects listed include Cryptopunks, Art Blocks, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, Rarible, Meebits, Loot, and Superrare. The $8.53 billion was accounted for by 4,471,826 transactions and there are 6,385 NFT projects on Ethereum.
