The Mobile Wallet app Belo, based in Argentina, adds support for the Lightning network via Openode-

On Monday, January 10th, the Mobile Wallet company Belo, based in Argentina, announced that the platform with the partnership with the Bitcoin payment processor and infrastructure provider Opennode added support for Lightning Network. Mobile application enables users to act in pesos and make transactions, and now users can act with Bitcoin payments in the future.

BELO, the Argentine Mobile Wallet application founded by Manuel Beaudroit, aims to "beat a bridge" between the cryptowelt and life in Pesos. On Monday, the company announced that there is a partnership with the Bitcoin (btc) payment processing opennode and the application supports the Lightning Network. The BELO application is available for iOS and Android smartphones and also supports Ethereum and some stable coins that are coupled to the US dollar.
"Our partnership with Opennode is incredibly important for our users," said Manuel Beaudroit, CEO of Belo. "Our goal is that more and more people get to know and experience the potential and the benefits of cryptocurrencies for everyday life every day.

Belo wallet introduced in 2020 and residents of Latin America were able to receive crypto-assets via the mobile application and a mastercard. The startups website insists that everyone can use the mobile wallet application from Belo over 13 and either pay in pesos or cryptocurrencies.
Opennodes Head of Growth, Julie Landrum, said during the announcement that the company was looking forward to offering Latin America more selection in the financial sector. "We are incredibly happy about the integration of Openode into the Belo app, as this means that millions of people in Latin America have the opportunity to act immediately with Bitcoin, which promotes acceptance in a region in which Bitcoin growth explodes," said Landrum.
At the time of writing it is over 3,200 BTC blocked in Lightning Network or 136.6 million. The Total Value Locked (TVL) of Lightning Network is 36.79 % lower than on November 8, 2021 when it reached $ 216.13 million.
