He found that his company invests heavily in cyber security, and explained: "We have 200 experts all over the world who have spent the past few years together to build a very robust infrastructure", which in his opinion has several levels.
"With this special incident, some of these layers were broken," he admitted. However, he pointed out: "We were ready for operation in about 13 or 14 hours, and on the same day, all of the accounts affected were completely reimbursed, so that no customer funds were lost."
Marszalek said that the incident was a great teaching and his company would further strengthen his infrastructure.
regardless of the stolen funds, the CEO:
noticedYou have to consider that these numbers are not particularly important in view of the scope of the business and that customer money was never endangered.
Marszalek was then asked what crypto.com is doing to ensure that such a security violation will no longer occur in the future. The executive replied: "There are additional security levels that we implement, as well as some new programs."
One of the new security measures is the Worldwide Account Protection Program (Wapp), which Crypto.com announced on Thursday with the autopsy. The company claims that the Wapp offers "additional protection and security for user funds that are held in the Crypto.com app and the Crypto.com exchange". The program restores up to $ 250,000 for qualified users.
Since the Crypto.com exchange is based in Singapore, Marszalek was asked whether it was contacted by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the country's central bank, which regulated the country's cryptos sector. He replied:
At this point we have not found a contact on the part of the regulatory authority.
"We are a regulated company in several jurisdiction, so we expect this and put together a report that we will pass on at every detailed request," concluded the manager of Crypto.com.
