Binance leaves the Netherlands after it has not been possible to secure the VASP license
The increasing official control has paralyzed Binance's US business, and elsewhere the cryptoralis has problems securing a license.
As the greatest obstacle to his global expansion plans, Binance announced that he left the Netherlands after he had not managed to secure a virtual asset service provider (VASP) license from the Dutch regulatory authority.
- Binance announced his withdrawal from the Netherlands and said that from June 16, it would no longer accept new users with residence in the country.
- The existing users, on the other hand, can only withdraw their assets from the Binance platform from July 17th. The stock exchange asked users to take suitable measures by withdrawing assets from their accounts within the specified time frame.
- The official explanation of Binance is:
"Binance is in a comprehensive registration application as a virtual asset service provider (VASP) at the Dutch regulatory authority. Although we have examined many alternative ways to serve Dutch residents in accordance with Dutch regulations, this has unfortunately not led to a VASP registration in the Netherlands."
- The development takes place almost a year after Binance was fined by the Dutch Central Bank with a fine of $ 3.4 million because it worked in the country without registration.
- Despite the latest decision, the stock exchange said that it would continue to work "productively and transparently" with the Dutch regulatory authorities.
- With the exception of the Netherlands, the crypto exchange in several EU countries has received official approval, including France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Sweden and Lithuania.
- recently announced the introduction of a new blockchain hub in Georgia called "Web3 Outpost" in order to strengthen blockchain training and to accelerate the introduction of crypto in the region.
