Anthony Scaramucci (Consensus 2023 Live)
The founder of Skybridge Capital, Anthony Scaramucci, spoke on Thursday at Consensus 2023 about the state of things at FTX in the weeks and days before his collapse.
The former rejected the idea that Changpeng Zhao (CZ)-CEO von Binance-was responsible for the failure of the stock exchange, and blame solely on the former FTX boss Sam Banknman-Fried.
How Skybridge cuts to FTX
Scaramucci initially made it clear that his relationship with FTX did not harm his company as much as many claim.
"I think we keep ourselves quite well, and I think we benefited from the entire last quarter ... it is probably the best quarter that we have had in our company for ten years."
Himmelsbrücke sold a 30%participation in his company in ftx ventures, just 8 weeks before the stock exchange was braided. Scaramucci said Skybridge had contacted insolvency lawyers in connection with this participation, but is ultimately okay whether they can buy the participation back later or not.
In terms of SBF, the manager said that he "likes Sam", even though he recognizes what he did as a betrayal. Fortunately, many of the influential personalities that he presented Bankman-Fried-including Tony Blair and the Clinton family-had not yet completed their DUE diligence processes or made large investments in FTX before collapsing.
Scaramucci said he had learned problems on November 7th. Bankman-Fried's father told him that the company was confronted with an “asset liability-match” of around $ 1 billion and that they only needed time to liquidate some of their illiquid assets in order to continue to be able to make repayments.
later in the evening this number rose to $ 4.5 billion. This prompted Scaramucci to book a flight to the Bahamas in order to personally meet Bankan-Fried and ask him about what is happening.
"The war space looked disgusted," he said. "Some of them realized that there were a very small group of people who had done something in which they did not let the other group of people."

SBF killed his own stock exchange
The founder has not spoken directly to Bankman-Fried since that day, but talked to CZ about the situation. "Some people believe that CZ Sam pushed out of business - that's not the case," he said.
Kevin O’Leary-a former paid spokesman for FTX-stated before the congress that he accused Binance of causing the market instability and panic that led to the collapse of FTX. He also said that he would be ready reinvest in Bankman-Fried if the conditions are right.
Scaramucci was less confident-and expressed doubts about the potential of FTX to create one year 2024 recurrence . "I think that's an impossibility ... maybe a kind of rebranding, but I don't understand how you can bring FTX to restart."
