US customers can pay via PayPal via the metamask integration with Ethereum

On May 11, Metamask announced that PayPal was added as a payment option for Ethereum purchases. However, the new payment channel is only available to US users.

"Metamask is the first web3 wallet that enables users to buy ETH via PayPal, a leading company in the field of digital payments," it said.

Integration also supports ETH transfers from PayPal to Metamask and thus ensures more acceptance of self-storage.

Many of those who reacted to the tweet were more interested in when Metamask would bring out his own token. The company asked users to avoid fraud with mask tokens and added that there were no immediate airdrop plans.

Metamask PayPal cooperation

The collaboration was originally announced in December, but the payments have just been started.

"With this new integration, users can use your PayPal credit, your linked bank account or your debit card to add ETH directly to your Metamask Wallet."

Ethereum purchases can be easily made via the metamask browser extension, the mobile app or the portfolio function. The "Buy crypto" function also supports debit and credit cards as well as bank transfers.

In addition to PayPal, Metamask already supports several payment channels, including Coinbase Pay, MoonPay, Sardine, Transak and Wyre.

Current steps of PayPal and Metamask

In a quarterly report submitted this week, PayPal announced that it managed $ 943 million in crypto assets on March 31. In addition, this number represents an increase of 56 % compared to the previous quarter when the company opened $ 604 million.

Metamask integrated the crypto-fintech platform Moonpay at the end of March to expand its offer in Nigeria.

In February, the popular Web3 wallet presented a number of data protection functions after online criticism was criticized in the way it deals with transaction data.
