US authorities raise an indictment against attackers of Mango Markets-accused, arrested in Puerto Rico-regulation

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Ministry of Justice (doj) have adopted a suspected attacker from the crypto trading platform Mango Markets. The accused was arrested and is currently in Puerto Rico.

Mango Markets Manipulator arrested, detained

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced on Friday that Avraham Eisenberg accused "of having organized an attack on a crypto-asset trading platform, Mango Markets, by manipulating the MNGO token". The regulatory authority found that the crypto token was offered and sold as security.

The accused is a 27-year-old US citizen who is faced with "parallel criminal and civilian prosecutors" who were raised by the Ministry of Justice (DOJ) or the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The CFTC submitted a civil law enforcement action against Eisenberg on January 9th. He was arrested and locked up in the MDC Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

That explained the securities supervision beginning on October 11, 2022, while I live in Puerto Rico:

Eisenberg participated in a plan to steal crypto-assets worth around $ 116 million from the Mango Markets platform.

He supposedly used "an account that he controlled at Mango Markets to sell a large amount of eternal futures for Mngo tokens, and used a separate account at Mango Markets to buy the same eternal futures," said the supervisory authority.

In addition, Eisenberg allegedly made a number of large purchases of the thinly traded MNGO token to artificially increase the price of the token in relation to the USD, the SEC continued and added that the price of Mngo Perpetual Futures had then increased on mango markets. According to the securities supervisory authority:

Eisenberg used the increased value of its MNGO Perpetual Futures position to borrow and withdraw various crypto-assets worth around $ 116 million from mango markets, which effectively deducted all available assets from the Mango Markets platform.

The SEC complained Eisenberg for "violation of the provisions of securities laws to combat fraud and market manipulation". The supervisory authority strives for "permanent injunctive relief, a behavior -based injunction, surrender with prejudice interest and civil law sanctions".
