Solanas Wormhole Exploiter moves another $ 61 million in ETH

The hacker, who exploited Solanas Cross-Chain Bridge Wormhole a year ago, moved another $ 61 million in Ether (Eth) of the stolen money.

Blockchain security company Peckshield Operation Sunday that the exploiter has moved some of the assets to the decentralized protocol Makerdao based on Ethereum.

Wurmhoch attacker moves stolen funds

remember that the wormhole bridge was exploited in February 2022, after a weak point on the platform made it possible for an attacker to shape packed ETH (Weth) without storing ETH himself.

The perpetrator stole 120,000 Weth worth around $ 320 million, which makes it one of the biggest hacks in 2022.

Although the Wormhole developers offered a bounty of $ 10 million in return for the return of the stolen assets, the exploitor silent and the account was resting.

after almost a year, cryptopotato last month that the attacker for the first time has an ETH worth $ 155 million out of his wallet to the decentralized stock exchange (dex) Openocean.

The exploiter has now moved another batch of the assets to Makerdao to enable algorithmic stable coin DAI and stacked ethms (Steth).

According to Peckshield, the attacker initially moved assets worth $ 46 million, including $ 24,400 packaged ETH (WSteth) worth $ 41.4 million and 3,000 Rocket Pool ETH (REHT) worth around $ 5 million.

The hacker exchanged the shifted tokens against 16.6 million DAI and thus bought 9,750 ETH of $ 1,537 each and 1,000 steth tokens of $ 1,543 each. The exploiter then packed the purchased tokens for 9,700 wsteth.

Peckshield also found that the attacker transferred another 8,800 WSteth worth around $ 15 million to Makerdao.

So far, 216 million US dollars have been moved

The exploiter moved $ 216 million from the stolen $ 320 million, which were deposited in the wallet connected with the hack.

Especially during the first transfer of money in January, the Wormhole developers repeated their previous $ 10 million head money in a message that was embedded in one of the transactions, but did not receive an answer from the attacker.
