The city of Miami has announced A web3 initiative supported by Time, Mastercard and Salesforce to include the community and achieve additional income for local companies.
Miami wants to create a collection of 5,000 NFTS designed by 56 local artists. The number 56 represents the 56 square miles of the city.
NFT owners can access the Priceless Miami program from Mastercard, which organizes unique culinary experiences and private events all over the city.
The cloud provider Salesforce will take over the characteristics and sale via its newly presented NFT cloud product. The NFT Cloud was introduced in June and is currently in a closed pilot project. It was developed to support her corporate customers in creation, administration and trade.
The initiative is expected to start in December, whereby token is provided in the Ethereum blockchain after the upcoming "Merge", which will shift the network away from the energy-intensive proof-of-work and towards a proof-of-stake implementation.
The mayor of the city of Miami, Francis X. Suarez, said in a press release:
"The city of Miami was at the forefront of the Web3 revolution and we will continue to use these new technologies to support our existing companies and at the same time attract new ones, to create capital and to offer our citizens and visitors of this great city."
KEITH A. Grossman, President of Time, told Blockworks that Suarez was "one of the most innovative leaders" in supporting blockchain technology and that they share the conviction that "Web3 is a long-term development that enables new relationships between individuals to promote and promote institutions."
