- Grellet and Gustave will invest in Defi, CEFI, Web3 infrastructure, layer 1 and layer 2 scalability and strive for the Creator Economy
- Grellet will continue the relationship with coinfund in an advisory function
Former executives of Coinfund and Aave have joined a risk capital company that wants to expand their investments in Web3.
Vanessa Grellet, who became a blockchain-focused investment company Kam Coinfund May 2021, is now managing partner at Aglaé venture . Grellet will continue her relationship with coinfund as a consultant.
She came with Jordan Lazaro Gustave, a founding member of Flamingodao and previously as Chief Operating Officer of the liquidity protocol AAVE, to Aglaé Ventures.
The risk capital company with branches in Paris, New York and San Francisco is investing in asset light activities and growing technology companies in all phases. These include marketplaces, software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies, content platforms, developer and application tools as well as digital native brands.
Aglaé has invested in Airbnb, Lyft, Netflix, Slack and Spotify. The investments range from 100,000 euros to 100 million euros. The company is made by Agache (formerly Groupe Arnault), the majority shareholder of the luxury goods giant Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton ( lvmh ).
"It was a very successful VC in Web2, but they saw many things come in web3 and wanted to hire someone who is a specialist to manage this part of their investments," said Grellet to Blockworks.
Grellet and Gustave are aimed at investments in four sectors: decentralized and centralized finances, web3 infrastructure, layer 1 and layer 2 scalability and the Creator Economy.
"We will both have a lot of surgical experience to help the founders and bring them to one from zero," said Grellet.
Grellet was discontinued last year, "to consolidate coinfund as one of the most practical partners for teams in the early phase, develop blockchain technology products".
Coinfund President Christopher Perkins said Blockworks that Grellet would continue to work with the company in an advisory capacity. Nobody will replace in her role as head of portfolio axes because Coinfund restructures the team.
The investment company is "in the construction mode", Percins added and noted that it endeavored to strengthen her post investment management strategy by setting new employees in the areas of marketing and communication, talentaquis and technical support.
Before Coinfund was Grellet for four years as an executive director at Consensys, where she focused on driving the introduction of Ethereum, strategic initiatives, alliances and channels. There she worked with LVMH teams on whose aura-project, the luxury industry with product persecution and persecution services based on the To operate Ethereum blockchain technology.
Grellet also worked at PWC and as a manager for corporate strategy on the New York Stock Exchange.
