Ukraine plans to issue NFT collections to finance the armed forces

The Ukraine plans to become the first developed country that publishes its own collection of NFTS because it tries to benefit from a flood of crypto donations to support its war against Russia.

Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, announced the plan on Thursday in a tweet and said he would soon announce details of his NFTs.

The step is the latest sign that the Ukrainian government uses digital assets as a means of financing its armed forces in their fight and, after applying around $ 200 million in "war bonds".

Since the beginning of the conflict, the official Twitter account of Ukraine has called for donations in cryptocurrency and publicly published addresses for transfers in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and Polkadot.

According to a transaction analysis by the data company Elliptic, the government of cryptocurrencies with a total value of more than $ 50 million were donated.

On Thursday, however, Federov said that it would be canceled and not spending any "fungible tokens". Instead, he confirmed that the state of NFTs would start to support the Ukrainian armed forces.

It is unclear what these NFTs will consist of or whether they are transferred free of charge or sold in an auction to obtain additional means.
