On April 12th and Nadya Tolokonnikova, the creator of Pussy Riot, a Russian feminist punk rock collective, announced the creation of a common area in the web3 meta persona during the NT NYC 2023 event.

According to Venture Beat, Pussy Riot's community area is launched within the interactive 3D chat room game IMVU. In addition, the first 5,000 users who visit the meta verse and complete a free mission will unlock a NFT designed by Tolokonnikova.

use the metaverse to support various causes

The purpose of the common room "Utopia: A Virtual Haven for All" is to offer all women, bipoc and people from the LGBTQIA+community a unique and inviting environment in which everyone within a feminist church with similar ideologies can be interacted by Pussy Riot.

Those who want to visit Tolokonnikovas Metaversum can do so from April 14 by registering with IMVU and creating a unique avatar according to your wishes.

According to Tolokonnikova, the creation of this digital space is the first step to realize your dream to build a "Pink Church of Feminism" that comprises all gender differences in the real world.

"It is very exciting to start utopia in IMVU and make it feminist, queer, diverse and radical. It has always been a dream of mine to found a pink church of feminism, [...] At some point I will find a way to build it in real life. But the first step is to start this vision in meta psum

Tolokonnikova works on other projects

A real feminist activist, Tolokonnikova, who claims to have been imprisoned for two years because of protest against the government of Russian President Vladimir Putin, noticed that this was one of the first projects that focused on the crypto ecosystem that she is working on to support LGBTQIA+communities in Russia

tolokonnikova also said that it is developing digital wearables with IMVU to support organizations such as North Caucasus SOS that help homosexuals to leave Chechnya, a Russian region of Russia in which "gay people are seriously in danger".
