Strategy strengthens Bitcoin stocks and reduces distance to Blackrock
With the acquisition of 22,048 Bitcoin on Monday, Strategy (formerly Microstrategy) increased its total stock to 528,185 BTC. As a result, the company positions itself as the second largest corporate owner of the leading cryptocurrency, only exceeded by Blackrocks Ibit, a stock market -traded fund (ETF).
At the beginning of the week, Michael Saylor, the founder and executive Chairman from Strategy, announced that the company took over 22,048 BTC, which increases the total stock of Strategy for a valuable amount of $ 44.27 billion based on the current exchange rates at 12:30 p.m. Eastern TIME on March 31.
After the latest purchase, Strategy now holds 528,185 BTC, which corresponds to 47,671.02 BTC less than the inventory that IBIT manages. Without taking into account the stocks of cryptocurrency exchanges, Strategy is now the largest corporate owner behind Blackrocks IBIT, which currently holds 575,856.02 BTC (corresponding to $ 48.27 billion). In order to exceed IBIT, Strategy would have to secure an additional 47,671.02 BTC, which corresponds to a value of $ 3.99 billion.
It is important to note that while strategy is able to exceed the ETF in relation to stocks, which operates funds on working days with tributaries and occasional drains. While Strategy's BTC reserves remain static, IBIT can accumulate additional stocks on working days if there is demand. This dynamic could lead to Ibits reserves growing further.
According to IBIT, Fidelity's FBTC ETF 196,932.78 BTC, which corresponds to a value of $ 16.5 billion, followed by Grayscales GBTC with 193,466.08 BTC worth around $ 16.21 billion. Without taking ETFs into account, however, Strategy shows itself as the leading listed company with Bitcoin in its balance sheet.
collective dominates Strategy, Ibit, FBTC and GBTC a total of 1,494,439.88 BTC. This corresponds to about 7.53% of the total range of 19.84 million BTC currently in circulation.
The interaction of significant company owners such as Strategy, persistent ETF accumulation as well as the perspective purchases for a US strategic Bitcoin reserve (SBR) and global equivalents could restrict the liquid supply of Bitcoin and possibly trigger a scarcity scenario, provided the demand remains at the current level.
It is noteworthy that the divisibility of Bitcoin (up to 0.0000,0001 BTC) ensures that even if entire coins, trading with Satoshis can preserve liquidity in order to maintain market dynamics.
