Sławomir Mentzen: rise of a crypto-supporting politician in Poland

The candidate Sławomir Mentzen has positioned itself in Poland in the past few weeks as a prominent voice for cryptocurrencies. A survey by the research company Mandelia24 showed that mentists rose to 18.9% in voting. This illustrates its rise in the Polish elections, in which he is currently less than one percentage point behind Nawrocki, which is 19.5%.

A factor that contributes to men's popularity is its strategic use of social media such as TikTok, X and YouTube. He managed to address a younger target group, with about 46% of voters aged 18 to 29 years of age to vote for him. This number is also significant in the age group from 30 to 39 years.

Mentzen's political platform reflects a mixture of conservative, nationalist and libertarian ideas. A central concern of his campaign is the creation of a Bitcoin reserve in Poland with the prospect of friendly regulations and lower taxes for cryptocurrencies. In his words: "When I become a president, our country becomes a place with very friendly regulations for cryptocurrencies."

He demands the release of the trade of cryptocurrencies and wants to ensure that Poland has the most crypto -friendly law within the European Union. Mentzen emphasizes that the Polish state currently does not affect cryptocurrencies and in this context also has a reference to Donald Trump's Bitcoin Reserve Initiative.

With a background in physics and a doctorate in economics, acquired at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Mentzen has also gained experience in the economy. In addition to his political career, he did a law firm and a beer brand.
