Start my journey into the metaverse by throwing Zuckerberg in the face with tomatoes - metavers

Note from the editor: The following story was written by Neomi, an author from China with experience in the areas of art, music, culture, technology and trips. Bitcoin.com News sent her to the area of Blockchain-based meta-severse experiences to capture the feeling of a pioneer who enters this new reality.

Decentraland, day one: I need a hat

182 When I wanted to hold back for the first time, so I wanted to hold back I create my avatar: a bald head with a black suit and black sunglasses. Within just ten minutes after my exploration began, however, I came across ten other players who looked exactly what I looked like. We probably still had something together - none of us could afford to buy a real hat. I had heard that people in the meta -versions invest in NFTS, but I was just too afraid to check the prices. It is enough to say that I found out that things are expensive - even hats.

To look something different than the other bald heads in the meta verse, I had to look for some advantages. I ended up in a play area where all metore degraded to gemstones. At the beginning I didn't understand why people were motionless, as if their internet were dead, but then I realized that they did exactly the same mining activity as I did. Some even floated in the air when they climbed on their meteorites that the other players cannot see. Experience was designed in such a way that it is inviting and inclusive, so that every player had his own meteorite, on which he could work, such as an episode of Schwarzer mirror . Otherwise, the mining field would probably have become a Battle Royale-Arena in which the players hit each other in the fight for resources with pick-up hoes.

A decisive difference between the blockchain-based metaverse and an MMORPG (Massively multiplayer online role-playing game) is possession. The metaverse belongs to a decentralized network of players. Sure, the developers have created the platform, but they do not have the ultimate rights to everything in it or the last creative authority about the area, as with standardized games. Whatever you have in the meta person, it is yours - such as the hat that I still couldn't afford to produce with these gemstones that brought me to mine for a long time.

I really can't remember when I last worked so hard in a game to get up or just collect equipment with a low level. But this time the (un) excitement was a little different. Knowing that everything you own in this game actually belongs to you-due to the unchangeability of the blockchain-is a game chat. This further leads me to the realization that the meta verse is not a utopia. Everything here is deservedly deserved (with the exception of some free NFTs from the air). Either you are already "crypto -Eich" and can buy items from the shelf, or you are talented enough to manufacture your own products and sell them to others. Mediocre Muggle must find their own position in this new world so as not to feel too incapable.

ready player one . I really didn't expect this resistance within Decentraland to rise so quickly. In the second thinking, however, it is time.

What was increasing the experience was that when I finally made it to the top of the building, I was able to choose the heart or a box of tomatoes - to throw Mark Zuckerberg in the face. The face of the Meta CEO was printed on all six facets of a rotating cubes that hovers in the air. In fact, the graphic may look a bit rough with some user -generated experiences, probably due to the old laptop that I used. But that's not the point. The point is that when I played I really had fun and managed to spin my tomato into the sugar cup and now wait for the free NFT.

Back to the graphics, the infrastructure for amazing creations is already available. With some experiences, the visual effects and graphics were actually quite impressive. If you have a larger screen with a higher resolution, it is even better. The moving clouds and the azure sky were reflected as tender on the glass floor as a beautiful oil painting. Futuristic skyscrapers and flying cyberpunk vehicles give you the feeling of standing in the center of Neo Tokyo. Here, too, it is not the main goal of a meta-verse, unusual CGI and Mass effect animal graphics. The property, experience and freedom.

It is worth noting that many interesting experiences such as the resistance of the Spanish Museum are limited. El Metaevento Live. When I went back to make a few selfies, the whole facility was gone and left only an empty museum with the same anti/pro poster on the glass.

By the way, after two nights in the mining I still haven't got a hat. But I led six ghosts back to their graves in Halloween Town. And I learned that you don't need expensive hat to have fun in the meta -verses.

Decentraland, day three: Sotheby’s and Spicy Pandas

scrolling down the sights in Decentraland was a fun thing. There were so many places that appeared very appealing (and even mysterious). The Sotheby’s Natively Digital gallery was on my to-do list even before I had entered Decentraland for the first time. In order to prove respect for the visual arts and the brand name, I decided to create a new avatar. Still no hat, but the new avatar at least had hair.

And I was there. Who could have guessed that one day I would appear in my sailor uniform and Dango bun with the renowned Sotheby’s without being condemned? Only in the meta verse. At this point there are not many areas in the Sotheby’s building, unless there is a special event. The installation art with the topic of toilet paper deficiency was fun. It even looked as if the Sotheby’s building had been looted, which with the big mess next to the reception area.

Another landmark in Decentraland on my list was Chinatown - Dragon City. I assumed that, like everywhere in the real world in Chinatown, it would be built by the Chinese and would look authentic - not like an orientalized Chinese imagination.

But then I saw something that looked like a cooked panda in a yin-yang-shaped stew from above. Another panda in the not sharp half of the stew seemed to have fun, while the unfortunate panda was already cooked at medium level. I wish I had a virtual phone at the moment to make a selfie with the cooked panda and to post it from Decentraland somewhere on social media.

Finally, a short note on the meta-verse disaster. If you jump into the (flat) water near Dragon City, you will not be killed. In fact, I tried a few risky things that would certainly kill a character in a role -playing game, and it seems as if characters in Decentraland don't die. Period. So when I didn't bother to take the elevator or run down the dazzling, winding stairs, I simply jumped from the ten -story building and ended up elegantly on the floor like an Olympic gymnast. This tiny detail was indeed very strengthening and liberating.

The meta -off world has no limits and no fears. Don't be afraid is the first step towards free exploration.

The high -rise temple in Dragon City were absolutely beautiful with many details. I did not hear traditional Chinese music in the background and had to check whether my internet was too slow. But you know, for me the essence of Chinatown is authentic food. Nevertheless, it is unlikely that odor and taste experiences will be accepted into the meta verse in the foreseeable future. So now it is time to order a Chow-mein delivery.
