According to Barcelona, 3,600 flock for conspicuous parties and conversations at no price

- The Avalanche conference brought 3,600 developers, investors and industry leaders for four days full of content to Spain
- Institutional actors performed, many of them for the first time at a crypto event
This year's Avalanche Summit, organized by AVA Labs, the team behind the Layer 1 Blockchain, brought more than 3,600 developers, investors and crypto-newcomers to Barcelona.
tickets, each cost around $ 600, granted the participants to discussions for four days, most of which took place in cocktails and tapas either inside or outside the event location. To talk about the price, either of Avalanches native token Avax, which has fallen by about 26 % since the beginning of the year, or another currency was practically unscathed.
"I was surprised to see so many company people there, it was probably half a dozen people from Fortune 500 companies, recognizable big banks and other corporate funds, and this was their first crypto conference," said Jonathan, CEO and co-founder of Snickerdoodle Labs, who had come from California, at the event on a panel speak.
"I spoke to the head of the Digital Asset and Blockchain group of the Bank of America ... When I saw her at this event, her first real crypto event, there is a strong mood about how people look at the space."
Despite a larger institutional presence, the event was of little similarity to a typical financial conference. It started at 12 p.m. with an all -day open bar - in the main exhibition area, which was referred to as "Eco Dome", DJs appeared almost continuously.
"I am working on a project that will be huge," said a participant who screamed at an after-party event, which was organized by Trader Joe, a decentralized stock exchange from Avalanche, in a club in downtown Barcelona. "It gets bigger than Morgan Stanley."
The official conference events that took place in Poble Espanyol, an open-air architecture museum and an exhibition area of 50,000 square meters, included three stages and more than 250 speakers who do not have a fagibler token (NFTS) to the establishment of liquidity covered swimming pools.
The venue was complete with a Zen garden, a private area with massage table, aerial yoga and green juice, which was reserved for VIPS, speakers and hackers, which took part in the hackathon on the last day of conference.
Devon Ferreira, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Marketing at AVA Labs, found that almost half of the panel and keynote discussions included women.
"From our point of view, still not enough - still a great start," he added.
The conversation about improving the Web3 infrastructure seemed to dominate the conversation.
"In many conversations with node operators, liquid-staking providers, application developers ... it became clear that a reliable, resistant and powerful infrastructure is the next border for web3," said Renjie Buttalid, Vice President of Development at Metrika, a blockchain intelligence company.
"We are still early. Network deteriorations and failures occur and will continue to occur until blockchain networks go through the ripening curve."
The speakers of the event agreed and added that many of the web3 experiences that users have today may no longer exist in the future, since the infrastructure is constantly evolving.
"Basically one of the mistakes I am committing to many projects and designers is to project web3 technology onto web2 experiences," said Calvin Chan, founder and CEO of Legitimate, an ecosystem that links physical products with digital identities, during a panel discussion.
There was a strong sense of community, which can be rare at events with a focus on a single blockchain, such as Bitcoin Miami or ETH Denver. Many participants led the cheerful atmosphere to a mixture of joy to be personal after two years of predominantly virtual events and a growing optimism about the future of crypto and web3.
"If the strength of a network is measured in the strength of its community, the summit was a masterpiece that indicates that we are well positioned to lead the industry in 2022 and beyond, with an atmosphere that speaks for cooperation and inclusion." said Ferreira. "[It's] a welcome change to tribalism typical of crypto."
The participants included the team leader of Ethereum, Péter Szilágyi, and the well-known Bitcoin supporter Udi Wertheimer, emphasized Ferreira, who both participated Twitter to exchange positive experiences from the event. Udi added Rotes triangle Twitter profile name-a mark for members of the Avalanche community-after the event.
