Kalshi and Coinbase: Revolutionizing USDC Trading for Predictions!
Kalshi, the largest regulated prediction market platform in the US, has announced a partnership with Coinbase to enhance their event-based trading infrastructures. With this collaboration, announced on November 13, 2025, Kalshi will use Coinbase Custody for the custody of USDC, which acts as a core settlement asset on the platform. These steps aim to increase trust and compliance for traders, which is particularly important in a dynamic market such as prediction trading.
Using USDC on Kalshi allows for fast settlement and stable pricing. Coinbase Custody, on the other hand, offers security features such as cold storage, segregated accounts, and institutional compliance standards that are critical to Kalshi's long-term stability and growth. This collaboration could significantly change the market landscape for event-based trading.
Growth and Valuation
Kalshi has experienced remarkable growth in 2025, with a valuation of over $10 billion. This development was supported by a $300 million funding round in October 2025, which took the company to a valuation of $5 billion. Previously, Kalshi had already raised $185 million in June at a valuation of $2 billion. In total, the company has raised $415 million in capital, establishing itself as a leading player in the predictive trading space.
For Kalshi, stability is particularly important as the platform is also designed for trading elections, economic indicators and sports results. Interestingly, Kalshi's 2025 election market predicted Donald Trump's victory long before the traditional media reported it.
Technological innovations and competitive environment
In another development, Kalshi completed integration with Coinbase's Layer 2 network solution, Base, in late October. This improvement resulted in faster and cheaper USDC deposits, significantly streamlining the user experience. Back on November 6th, Google Finance began showing real-time quotes from Kalshi and its competitors like Polymarket, further increasing visibility and access to this emerging form of trading.
With these initiatives, Kalshi remains well positioned to respond to the growing interest in event-based trading and continue to set new standards in the industry. The partnership with Coinbase could represent an important step towards an even more sustainable and trustworthy trading environment.
