Crypto Exchange Binance says Ireland is part of his HQ plans
supervisory authorities around the world have taken a close look at Binance, according to trade volume, the largest stock exchange in the world. Some have prohibited the platform certain activities, while others have warned consumers that they are not licensed for operation.
In response to this, CEO Changpeng Zhao said in July that he wanted to improve the relationship with the supervisory authorities and will break with the "decentralized" structure and set up a regional headquarters.
Last month Binance has registered three companies in Ireland, as can be seen from corporate register documents.
"Historically we claim that we don't have a headquarters. We are currently building a few headquarters in different parts of the world," said Changpeng Zhao in an interview.
When asked whether Ireland is contained in the plans of Binance to build a headquarters in a certain country, Zhao replied: "Yes, that does." He refused to name more details on the plans for the country.
"When we started, we wanted to acquire the decentralized principles, no central work around the world," no limits, "he said. "It is now very clear that you need a centralized, legal personal structure behind it for a centralized stock exchange."
The trade volume at Binance rose between July and September, which indicates that a recent procedure for the supervisory authorities all over the world had little influence on the business of the platform.
The corporate structure of Binance is opaque. His investment company is registered on the Kaiman Islands, as can be seen from British court documents and the Malaysian security supervision.
